It will be Mothers’ Day on 31st March and it takes me back to the days when I was 13 and in the Bournemouth Girls Choir. We sang a Disney Medley and the lovely song below was part of it. It describes the love between Mother and Child so perfectly. What do you think? The song is from Peter Pan [and Wendy ;-)]
The angel voice that bids you goodnight
Kisses your cheek, whispers sleep tight
Your mother and mine
Your mother and mine
The helping hand that guides you along
Whether you’re right, whether you’re wrong
Your mother and mine
Your mother and mine
What makes mothers all that they are
Might as well ask what makes a star
Ask your heart to tell you her worth
Your heart will say, heaven on earth
Another word for divine
Your mother and mine
Examples of Spode Blue Room are now on Facebook ready for Mothers Day gifts, or Mothering Sunday as the Church name the day. Spode are trying to get back to manufacturing their ceramics in the UK, as are Portmeirion and Royal Worcester who, of course, are all under the same umbrella company. It is sad that the day of the full China Dinner /Tea Service are almost over as Royal Worcester and Spode had some really beautiful patterns. We can still supply these patterns as Replacements – this is how The China Parade started trading in 2003.
